I'm not the new year's resolutions type of person. In fact, I never do them, I don't like them. I'm not even the new year's type of person. I just go with the fact that now I have to learn to write a different number at the end of the current year, which is always a pain.
When it comes to books, however, I think I can make a huge exception and I may even have a few resolutions.

- Anny, please, just be more active here. I can't stress this one well enough. I've been terrible at keeping up! I've been going between being too busy and not busy at all, thus being super lazy. Either way, I always forgot that there is a poor baby blog waiting to be updated and I'm deeply sorry for that. If someone would love to be my personal reminder and would beat me up every time I'd moan that I'm bored, it would be lovely, I might even pay you. In food.
- Goodreads reading challenge! The eternal question at the beginning of each year! How many books am I willing to read this year? I refused to go lower than last year. I set my reading goal to 50 and surpassed it by reading 76. Reading just four more books, thus making it 80 just didn't seem challenge-y enough and 90 was just lame. So I went for a hundred this year. At this very moment I've read nine, so I'm very satisfied. If we take in the maths, it is just about two books a week. Which isn't hard at all, for me at least. My average book count per a normal week (not too busy, not holidays though) is about 3 books. Where was the problem last year then, you might ask? Proceed onto number 3, please.
- No book slumps! Remember my post? It really works. I think in total, I've spent about 4 months in a book slump. Not the good kind though, where you just discover other things besides reading, because in that moment, reading just doesn't work for you, oh no, there were just a few days of that. I've spent all those four months in the lazy kind of one! Seriously, if I'm too lazy to read books, then one day I might be just as well lazy to breathe.
- Reducing my to-read shelf on Goodreads. As of today, my to-read shelf on Goodreads has got exactly 100 books on it. And I don't like that. I would like my to-read shelf to bear just about 30-50 books that I will aim to read in the near future, not just books that I would be interested in one day. So among the 100 books that I volunteered this year, about 20-50 books could be from this one particular shelf. I'm really curious if that is going to happen!
Have you got your own reading goals for this year? Oh, before I forget, I've been thinking of doing a list of small reviews on my favourite books, let me now if you'd like me to do that!
A belated happy new year!
